The Real Christian

James 1:22, 26, 27; II Corinthians 5:17; Colossians 1:1-3; Matthew 5:13-16; II Corinthians 4:7

When a person claims to be something, you would expect their life to back up what they say. So, according to the Bible the real Christian:

  • Talks to please the Lord and edify others

  • Walks in the newness of life

  • Lives to help others and honor the Lord

  • Behaves as God would have them to do and demonstrates the character of Christ

  • Responds to honor God’s Word and help others

Also, they have a heart of kindness, generosity, and pleasantness. In other words, they have been and are being changed (transformed) into the image of Christ. It is unfortunate that some call themselves Christians but talk, walk, live, respond, and behave like people who do not know Christ in a personal way. By living this way they are not attracting people to the changes that God can do in a believer’s life and thus they are self-centered.

Prayer: Lord, give me grace and strength to obey the Holy Spirit in all things.

Project: List areas that need to be adjusted in your life and how you plan to do it.
