Waiting Before the Lord
Isaiah 40:31, 41:10, Psalms 37:39, 46:1-3, 73:26, 138:1-8, Deuteronomy 3:16
One of the things that most people do not want to do is wait. There is something about human nature that does not want to wait at the stop light, in the doctor’s office, at the grocery store, or any other place in life. Yet, one often prays and asks God to develop and cultivate the character of Christ in life, and certainly, He was patient, loving, kind, and gracious even when He had to wait. It is vitally important that the believer waits:
Before God each day for wisdom and guidance
For the answers to life challenges
For direction for choice
For godly wisdom
One must be on guard from running ahead of God as they wait in prayer and solitude for his direction.
Prayer: Lord, forgive me for being in such a hurry. Work in my life so that I may develop the demeanor of waiting and trusting You and being obedient to You while I wait.
