Think Before You Speak

Proverbs 15:1-4, 18:21, Luke 6:43-45, James 3:5, Titus 3:2, Psalms 19:14

It has been said that instruction about words and speaking appears more than 150 times in the book of Proverbs.  Words are quickly spoken but remain for a long time.

Words have the power to:

  • Encourage

  • Give new life

  • Bring refreshment

  • Remind one of hope

  • Renew the mind

Or words can:

  • Destroy

  • Hurt

  • Bring depression

  • Create worry

So, that which one does most today, speaking, should be done prayerfully obediently, carefully, and with caution, so we can please and honor our Lord and be a blessing to others.

Prayer: Lord, take my mind, heart, and lips that I might bring honor to Your name and be a blessing to others.
