Wisdom of God

James 1:5, Proverbs 3:5-6, 13, 4:7, I Kings 4:29, I John 5:14-15

There are many voices that claim to give “wisdom” for the day about various subjects. The tendency for a believer is to use self-tested plans and goals rather than asking God for His wisdom and direction.  Yes, there are many who seem to know how to make decisions and choices, but the follower of Christ must be careful not to decide on earthly or human wisdom but to pray and obey the Bible and God’s wisdom.  The wisdom of God is food for the believer’s life as they:

  • Read the Bible

  • Study, meditate, and memorize the Word

  • Bring their life in obedience to the Word

  • Pray

  • Seek God in all ways (Matthew 6:33)

The wisdom of God is not magical or mysterious but is based on the Bible and on obedience to God as He leads by the Holy Spirit indwelling each believer.  It is as the servant of God anchors their life in the Word and obeys God’s leading that they can know the wisdom of God.

Prayer: Lord, open my mind and heart to know and do Your will this day and live in Your wisdom.
