Slow Down and Wait
Psalms 37:7, 130:5, Ecclesiastes 3:11, Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 12:2, 40:31
One of the things humans do not like to do is wait. Often believers run ahead of God to solve the challenges they are facing before God gives complete direction and leading. The scriptures are clear that a person who acts or speaks quickly and without direction usually causes more problems. People are hurt, the ways of God are ignored, and damage is done to the causes of Christ as believers run ahead of His plan. It takes much time of prayer, examination, and counsel before one is to speak or take action. The delays of the Lord are used by Him to build, bring things to one’s attention, and help one to know the had and ways of God. Waiting does not mean there is no activity but it does mean that one can find the way of the Lord as they wait on the Lord in prayer and obedience.
Prayer: Lord, give me the wisdom to rest and wait on Your leading until I know Your direction and will.
